We’re excited to announce a partnership between Created by Humans and the Authors Guild, the nation's oldest and largest professional organization for writers. Through this collaboration, The Authors Guild will promote Created by Humans to its 14,000+ members and help us make decisions about how to best serve the author community through our platform. We're especially excited to welcome Mary Rasenberger, CEO of The Authors Guild, to our Advisory Board.
As the tension between content creators' rights and AI's potential intensifies, many authors and publishers are understandably concerned about the unauthorized use of their copyrighted works. We are committed to building a bridge between creators and AI companies, ensuring that both sides can thrive. Our platform offers authors a transparent way to control, manage, and monetize their content, while giving AI developers access to a curated library of high-quality, authorized written works. This mutually beneficial relationship is built on the foundation of full consent from rights holders.
According to Rasenberger: “Generative AI is here to stay, but it is far from clear that the books LLMs have been trained on can be purged, and certainly not easily. We urgently need to give control back to authors and their publishers, and licensing is the means to accomplish that going forward. CbH’s platform provides authors who are interested in engaging with AI platforms a way to do so on their own terms, ensuring they have a say in how their work is used and are fairly compensated for it.”
The Authors Guild has long been at the forefront of advocating for authors' rights in the AI era. From championing AI transparency legislation to developing best practices for authors navigating this new landscape, their dedication to the creative community aligns perfectly with our mission.
Together, we’re shaping the future of publishing — one that balances the needs of creators, technology, and society. The story is just beginning, and we’re excited to write it together.
